Overview 

MD/MS program is a clinical training program in which post graduate students were trained to get special training and skills in medical science. This dual degree program is designed for all those students who are keenly interested to undergo through the research work and employ as a professional physician. This program enables the students to get training by experts at recommended medical centers.

MD/MS Degree is the most prominent degree after MBBS to get specialized in a particular specialization. The Bachelor of Medicine after completing their degree courses can apply for these postgraduate courses through NEET PG a national level open entrance test conducted by National Board of Examination once in a year. 

However, the current scenarios are constantly changing day by day. Previously MD MS admission will happen through management quota which was an easier mode of admission. After providing MD MS admission through Management quota unfilled MD MS seats were filled by the private members of the medical colleges.

 Nowadays, NEET PG entrance examination is 100% compulsory for the aspirants who seek MD MS admission at any medical College in India. MD admission without NEET is impossible. It is even compulsory for the direct admission process. MD MS admission in India through management quota is only provided to those who are eligible in NEET. Eligibility criteria of MD MS admission in India

 Eligibility criteria for MD/MS admission includes all necessary details which interested candidates should have to fulfill to satisfy the eligibility criteria. 

In simple language the eligibility criteria to take admission MD/MS courses are very simple and sorted. Candidate is eligible to take admission, if He or She holds MBBS degree or a provincial Pass Certificate provided by a medical college or an institute which is further recognized by Medical Council of India. Candidates looking for MD MS admission have to pass NEET PG Entrance Examination conducted by NBE.

 Candidates possessing provincial or permanent registration certificate by MCI or having equivalent education qualification certificate issued by state or Medical council of India are eligible. Additionally interested candidates are also required to complete one year internship or likely to complete before 31 March 2020 are eligible for MD MS admission.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 – AIQ 50% seats

 According to NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria for MD MS admission through AIQ 50% seats stated that students belonging to Jammu & Kashmir are not falling under this category until the approval of Government. 

Only those candidates are eligible for AIQ 50% who have been selected by the Government of India, under reserved seats to pursue MBBS education in medical colleges of Jammu & Kashmir. 

All these candidates have to issue a duly approved affidavit which declares that they are nominated by the Government of India to attempt MD/MS course under AIQ 50% seats. A printout of this Affidavit on the following address in order to confirm the eligibility criteria. 

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Foreign Nationals

Below listed eligibility care about foreign national candidates who want to appear in NEET PG entrance examination, Since, 2019 it is compulsory for the Foreign national to register themselves with MCI for sitting in MD MS admission. Temporary registration has been provided by MCI to these candidates. 

 As per the NEET PG criteria, this registration will only provide for the duration of MD MS admission in India for a limited duration and are eligible to take part in which the candidates are exclusively nominated to pursue postgraduate studies.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Foreign Medical Graduates

The conducting authority of NEET-PG also maintains a separate eligibility for all those Indian candidates or overseas candidates who are seeking Primary Medical Qualifications from outside Indian territories.

Foreign medical candidates have to pass the FMGE screening test conducted by NBE. 

 Foreign candidates must be registered with MCI or SMC. They must have done a 1 year internship as per the eligibility criteria. Candidates are required to bring an FMGE Pass certificate along with them at examination date.

MD MS in India

MD/MS is a full fledged course after MBBS course. It is a next level training course to become a specialist in a particular field of medicine. MD MS admissions are one of the toughest procedures for medical graduates. The graduates who wish to gear up their professional career to the advanced level and become a specialist had to pursue MD MS course. MD MS fees structure in Indian medical colleges are more affordable than abroad. 

 To get MD MS Admission in INDIA an aspirant has to qualify NEET-PG entrance test conducted by National Board of Examination in the month of January every year. After qualifying NEET-PG entrance exams successfully. Central level and state level NEET-PG counselling were held for the qualified students. 

This Central or State level Counselling is held by the Medical council committee on behalf of DGHS. This counselling is held for AIQ 50% (All India Quota) seats and 100% seats in Deemed and private colleges and universities. On the other hand State level NEET PG seats are conducted by Directorate Medical Education.
